Meet Annette

Annette started her background in Early Childhood Education at the UCSB Children’s Center at the age of 18 where she learned from many mentors and professionals in the field.  For many of Annette’s early professional years, she has served youth within the Juvenile Probation System, at-risk Transitional Aged Youth, and children within the Child Welfare System. She also has served many foster care and adoptive families, supporting both relative caregivers and permanent placements.  Annette has training in Floortime Therapy, Sand Tray, Theraplay, EMDR, and Cultural Competency. Annette started her private practice, Balanced Wheel Counseling (referencing the Medicine Wheel), in 2011.  She specializes in the treatment of trauma, early childhood development, domestic violence, maternal infant health and post partum family support, and attachment-based parenting.
